Pranati Nayak (born 06 April 1995; Age: 26 years) is a well-known athlete, gymnastic player, media face, Internet personality, and social media star from West Bengal, India. She is in the spotlight because she was selected to participate in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. 

She is the sole gymnast representative of India in Tokyo. She failed to give her best in the Olympics and scored only 42.565 scores. She came in the 79th position among 80 gymnasts. Her coach Minara Begum was very disappointed with her non-seriousness towards the Olympics.

Apart from this, Nayak has also participated in several gymnastics competitions. She firstly participated in 2004, when she was just 9 years old, and won the medal for the region. Pranati was practicing a lot for the Asian Gymnastics Championships 2021. Later, the championship was canceled because of the Coronavirus. Afterward, she participated in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 or 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. It is organizing from 23 July 2021 to 08 August 2021.

As per the reports, she only recorded 42.565 scores in four categories, which are a balance beam, vault, floor exercise, and uneven bars at the Ariake Gymnastic center held on 25 July 2021 (Sunday). She scored 9.433 on the balance beam, 13.466 on the vault, 10.633 on the floor, and 9.033 on uneven bars. She loses the tournament and was unable to make her position in the top 24 gymnasts. She is the sole gymnast from India at the Tokyo Olympics.

Coach Minara Begum’s comments on Gymnast Paranati fall

Minara said that she was very disappointed with her fall. She trained her for the last 18 years but two months ago, she was replaced with a new coach named Lakhan Sharma for Nayak. Begum added that Nayak was not serious about the Olympics and was busy in her photo session.

Minara was so disheartened and said that she only did one vault in Tokyo Olympics and on the other hand, she always does 2 vaults. She was so disappointed and said that:-

I conveyed my best wishes to Pranati before the game. I don’t want to talk to her because she disappoints me with her non-seriousness in the Olympics”
