Well, I think we all have that kind of moment of crisis in our lives. Some people answer the call, and some people just give up. And I have from a family of people that just don’t give up. I had a catastrophic event that happened to me when I was an 18-year-old kid, over 12 years, I would go through 25 surgeries.”
And that was what changed it for me. I mean, sometimes when you have a catastrophic event that happened to you, you become so introspective, you become so consumed with your pain, your loss, your despair, that you can see the opportunity.
I mean, people wander they live, you know, wondering, why am I here? You know, why am I here? What am I supposed to do? And for me, I was very fortunate, you know that I found out what I was supposed to do. Our main focus is to help heal military families.
So if you said, okay, Scott, what allows you to put your head on the pillow, and sleep peacefully, that I’ve worked that day as hard as I could to help heal military families.
A few weeks ago, I met this gentleman in a prosthetics clinic. He goes 10 years ago. I just had my leg taken off and I was unsure about things and didn’t know what life was going to be like. And I saw you out in the parking lot running and training for this triathlon.
So the guy said, if that guy can run on those two prosthetic legs, then I can at least walk on one. I have a story that changes lives. I hope my story saves somebody’s life that maybe, you know, they’re about to give up. And they said, Okay if this guy can do it, I can do it.
